Large 25cm London Spot On Sundial w/ Round Base (TJ)
The standard 25 cm. Spot-On Sundial on a 25 cm. round base plate incorporates the exclusive "line of light" at every noontime.
The design is copyright © Piers Nicholson, 2000
The dial plate is 25 cm. in diameter, and stands on a base plate 25 cm. in diameter. The height to the top of the gnomon is 13.5 cm, and the dial complete weighs 5.3 kg. The thickness of the base and dialplate together is 1.9cm. The base plate has 4 fixing holes to secure the sundial to the plinth or other horizontal mounting surface; the dial plate, after it has been oriented correctly is locked down with the central screw. This prevents the dial plate being knocked out of alignment, and also protects the fixing holes to prevent pilferage.
The sundial can be personalized with an engraved message on the side of the gnomon* to give a unique gift for an anniversary, birthday, wedding, or special event.
Characters are limited to 60 and can spread over 3 lines of text. Please type your inscription in the box above and state the number of lines you would like in the comments box when placing your order.
Standard dials are normally dispatched in 1-2 working days. Engraved dials are normally dispatched in 1-2 weeks.
Our Sundials are handicrafts and can be used indoors or out. Slight surface variations or blemishes are expected as it is designed for outdoor use, where the line of light will show the sun time on the dial and exposure will change the appearance over time.
This dial comes in the London model only.

Excellent service and advice, Elegant sundial beautifully crafted and engraved with a personal message. My only quibble is the website name engraved on the plate- spoils the classical look of it.

The delivered article was more delightful than the photo image on the website. It is a crafted piece which had both shades of the traditional sundial combined with simple lines and sweeping elegance. It will be a lasting and very personal reminder to my late wife, who search far and wide for a unique sundial for her garden. She would have loved it.
